Insurer modernizes claim-handling and investigation processes and adds advanced reporting functionality

NEW YORK; June 8, 2015 – Farm Bureau Property and Casualty Insurance Company (FBPCIC), a provider of personal and commercial lines insurance in the United States, has gone into production with claims software from Accenture (NYSE: ACN). The deployment of Accenture Duck Creek Claims supports FBPCIC’s commercial lines and worker’s compensation business, concluding a two-phase claims software implementation that began with personal lines. The claims software will help enable FBPCIC to continue its excellent claims service, respond to growing customer demands and increase efficiency through easy-to-use functionality that delivers effective end-to-end claims management.

In addition to improved claims administration, FBPCIC was also able to consolidate its claims systems, strengthen business rules to better detect fraud, institute more effective authority procedures and improve subrogation and recovery processes.

“We wanted to work with a company that had the right claims system, the right delivery methods, and an interest in building a long-term relationship,” said Daniel Pitcher, Chief Operating Officer of Farm Bureau Financial Services’ property-casualty companies. “With Accenture Duck Creek, we found a team that is responsive to our needs and continues to enhance their software to meet the changing demands of the industry.”

“This claims system transformation enables FBPCIC to continue to deliver the quality of service customers’ expect throughout the claims process,” said Michael A. Jackowski, global managing director, Accenture Duck Creek. “By utilizing our claims software, FBPCIC now has the automated processes and information management functionality that will enable FBPCIC to enhance customer engagement, increase efficiencies and support their efforts to identify and reduce fraud.”

Accenture Duck Creek Claims is one of the core components in a suite of software that also includes policy, rating, and billing solutions. Each component can be implemented independently or combined for an integrated approach to manage all aspects of the P&C insurance lifecycle. Value can be attained via on-premises software or Duck Creek OnDemand, a Software as a Service model.
