Addition further deepens Duck Creek’s ability to provide P&C carriers end-to-end modernization and streamlining of day-to-day operations
Boston – October 17 – Duck Creek Technologies announced today that it has acquired Outline Systems LLC, a New Jersey-based provider of P&C insurance distribution channel management software and longstanding member of Duck Creek’s partner ecosystem. Effective immediately, Outline’s flagship product, now branded as Duck Creek Distribution Management, will be offered alongside Duck Creek’s best-in-class P&C insurance solutions – and as with all other Duck Creek software, it will be available via Duck Creek OnDemand, the provider’s SaaS solution for the P&C insurance industry. Duck Creek Distribution Management (previously ProducerOne) will continue to be sold to all carriers and MGA/MGUs as an independent product, and will be immediately available to all Duck Creek customers and prospects with an additional license.
The expertise and knowledge that Outline brings to distribution management, and especially their P&C insurance focus, make this acquisition a strategic win for Duck Creek given the volume of today’s insurance transactions conducted through producers like independent agents and the industry’s increased focus on compliance. Integration with the Duck Creek Platform will make Duck Creek Distribution Management a compelling solution for P&C insurers looking to centralize and optimize increasingly-complex processes like producer onboarding, compliance, and compensation management, and focus more on building stronger producer partnerships.
“Distribution management is keenly important to insurers as they expand channels, move into new territories, and add distributors. But the increasing complexity of managing these channels is placing pressure on IT organizations, and legacy technologies can make it difficult for insurers to implement changes,” said Karlyn Carnahan, head of Celent’s Property/Casualty practice for the Americas. “Coupling a distribution management solution with configurable core systems can offer insurers a distinct competitive advantage by assuring the consistent delivery of key processes while optimizing the ability to access and use data.”
“Automating many of our producer management activities has had a significant impact on the efficiency of our distribution channel,” said Kardiner Cadet, SVP of Ecommerce at StarStone Insurance, a longtime mutual customer of the firms. “ProducerOne has been a valuable tool for StarStone for many years, and we are excited to see its development continue with Duck Creek’s resources behind it.”
Duck Creek Distribution Management helps carriers stay compliant on distribution licensing and reporting – critical to carriers’ heads of compliance – while also giving insurers’ business users the ability to quickly and effectively change producer commission plans using simple configurations. Carriers can also manage their network of producers more effectively through industry-leading relationship management capabilities, and keep agents and brokers fully engaged through a self-service portal and single point of interaction with the carriers they represent. Automating these and other processes gives carriers the freedom to focus resources on innovation and customer service, rather than manual data entry and record-keeping.
“Outline’s distribution channel management software is a natural addition to Duck Creek’s platform and marks an important milestone in our growth strategy,” said Michael Jackowski, CEO of Duck Creek Technologies. “We’re proud to welcome Outline’s employees to the Duck Creek family and to continue to work together to improve the many aspects of P&C distribution management together.”
“Duck Creek’s focus on helping carriers achieve their business objectives with modern, automated solutions to time-consuming challenges is perfectly in line with the philosophy Outline used in building our products,” said Prasad Boppana, CEO of Outline Systems. “This is an exciting day for all of us, and we look forward to continuing our work as members of the Duck Creek team.”
Duck Creek Distribution Management is now part of a solution set that includes other applications designed to support interaction between carriers and producers, as well as core systems for the baseline needs of insurers, including Duck Creek Policy, Duck Creek Rating, Duck Creek Claims, and Duck Creek Billing.
