November 1, 2017

In its first full year as an independent insurance technology leader, company sets new benchmarks for sales, implementations, and more

Boston – November 2, 2017 – Duck Creek Technologies, a global leader in the insurance technology industry, announced today an impressive series of accomplishments for fiscal year 2017, which ended August 31.

“It has been just 14 months since Duck Creek emerged as a new company,” said Michael Jackowski, Duck Creek’s Chief Executive Officer. “In a very short time, we have not only overcome the significant operational challenges that come with acquisitions, like blending teams, recruiting new, world-class talent, and standing up new systems and processes, we also had enormous business success. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this extraordinary journey with Duck Creek.”

Duck Creek’s Chief Revenue Officer Eugene Van Biert said, “Achieving our financial targets in our first year as a new business speaks volumes about our team’s ability to work together and the industry’s confidence in our future. We partnered with customers to complete 51 sales, and had 57 successful implementations. I am incredibly proud of our team and grateful to our clients for the trust they have placed in us to take them into their future.”

Highlights for Duck Creek’s Fiscal 2017 include:

  • 51 sales, many delivered via OnDemand, Duck Creek’s cloud-based delivery solution
  • 57 implementations
  • Acquisition and integration of Agencyport Software and Yodil
  • Strategic partnership with Marsh subsidiary, Dovetail Insurance
  • New systems to support human resources, finance, and sales
  • New brand and website
  • Expanded partner program
  • Enhanced customer experience and support
  • New facilities
  • Expanded Duck Creek University and Solution Center
  • Development of more content packages

“Our mission is to empower people to shape the future of insurance,” said Matt Foster, Duck Creek’s Chief Operations Officer. “That starts internally. We’ve successfully integrated not just the Agencyport and Yodil technologies, but also the people and the vision that made those companies so desirable in the first place. As a company, and as a team, Duck Creek has never been stronger or better positioned for success.”

Duck Creek’s Vice President of Strategy and Alliances, Eddie Jones, said, “It was an exceptional year all around. Personally, I’m most pleased with our growing partner program. In addition to our ongoing work with Accenture and other great partners, we added a stellar group of delivery, solution, and technology providers this year, including: Capgemini, Cognizant, HCL Technologies, HTC Global Services, NIIT Technologies, AAIS, LTI, Clyde Analytics, DataCede, and IVANS. These professionals play a crucial role in providing software services and solutions to our customers.”

In April of this year, Duck Creek formed a strategic relationship with Dovetail Insurance, a subsidiary of Marsh. Dovetail is moving its innovative insurance exchange to the Duck Creek OnDemand cloud-based platform, and Duck Creek assumed management and expansion of the technology. “The solution lets independent insurance agents deliver better, faster, more efficient service, and more products to their clients,” said Curt Stevenson, Chief Digital Officer at Duck Creek. “Simultaneously, it gives insurance carriers both significant expense savings and a new growing channel through which to distribute their products.”
