Agencyport Software® Launches Agent Insight Initiative

January 29, 2015
Agent research, reports and dedicated website provide ongoing insight into agent behavior and preferences for P&C carriers

Boston, MA – January 29, 2015 – Agencyport Software, the leading provider of web-based solutions for property and casualty insurers, has officially launched its Agent Insight Initiative, cementing the company’s position as the most agent-savvy portal solution provider in the industry. Found at http://www.powertotheagents.com, the program features research, videos and reports gathered from independent agents around the country.

“Agencyport literally grew up with independent agents,” said Jenn Parker, director of the Insight Initiative. “Our first office was actually located within an insurance agency. Building our first agent-facing portal, we could lean over and ask CSRs what they thought of certain features or capabilities. It was clear early on that even though we were selling to P&C insurance carriers, building great solutions for their Agents to use meant listening to those users a lot. And we’ve been listening ever since.”

In 2009, Agencyport sponsored a 4-week east coast road trip to gather as much first-hand information (positive and negative) as possible about independent P&C agents’ work with their carrier partners—what some carriers are doing right; and how others are missing the mark. The findings have helped guide the company’s product road map and work with their carrier customers ever since. Late last year, Agencyport decided to create a fulltime program to the mission, including a dedicated website: www.powertotheagents.com and frequent publication of agent findings on a range of topics.

“Though both carriers and agents ultimately seek new and better business from customers, the roads or workflows they use to get there are very different,” said Curt Stevenson, CEO at Agencyport. “Historically, carriers that have built web portals for their agents have done so from the perspective of optimizing internal workflows and efficiencies, not necessarily those of the agent. The most successful agent portals are built with the end users’ needs, goals, priorities, and workflow in mind.”

“At the end of the day, the easier you make it for agents to do their job, the more productive they will be and the more business and customer loyalty everyone will realize,” said Jason Cass, owner of JDC Insurance Group, an independent agency specializing in homeowners and personal auto; and co-founder of growprogram.com, a digital marketing company that helps agents grow in the 21st century. “That may sound obvious, but there are surprisingly few carriers that are easy to work with over the web. Agencyport’s Agent Insight Initiative will go a long way toward bridging the gap between what agents need in order to be productive and the tools that carriers give them to do it.”
