Duck Creek Cookies Notice

Effective Date: June 25, 2024

Our website uses “cookies.” A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. We use cookies to tell us whether you have visited us before or if you are a new visitor.  We also use cookies to help us identify site features in which you may have the greatest interest. Cookies may enhance your online experience by saving your preferences while you are visiting a particular site.

We, our service providers, and third parties, use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies (collectively, “Technologies”) to collect personal and other data, including identifiers and device information, usage data, content and files, and inferences.

Cookies are small text files placed by a website and stored by your browser on your device. A cookie can later be read when your browser connects to a web server in the same domain that placed the cookie. The text in a cookie contains a string of numbers and letters that may uniquely identify your device and can contain other information as well. This allows the web server to recognize your browser over time, each time it connects to that web server.

Web beacons are electronic images (also called single-pixel or clear GIFs) that are contained within a website or email. When your browser opens a webpage or email that contains a web beacon, it automatically connects to the web server that hosts the image (typically operated by a third party). This allows that web server to log information about your device and to set and read its own cookies. In the same way, third-party content on our websites (such as embedded videos, plug-ins, or ads) results in your browser connecting to the third-party web server that hosts that content. We also include web beacons in our email messages or newsletters to tell us if you open and act on them.

Other technologies that may operate similarly to cookies or web beacons may be used to collect information about you or your device when using our services.

We, our service providers, and third parties use Technologies on our services to collect personal data. Personal data about your online activities may also be collected over time and across different websites or online services.

We and our service providers use personal data collected from Technologies for a variety of purposes, such as to store your preferences and settings, enable you to sign-in, analyze how our websites and apps perform, track your interaction with the site or app, develop inferences, deliver and tailor interest-based advertising, combat fraud, and fulfill other legitimate purposes. We and our service providers may also disclose the personal data we collect or infer with others to assist with these purposes.

Companies acting as third parties (“Third-Party Partners”) use personal data collected from Technologies for our purposes and other purposes. We work with these Third-Party Partners for a variety of purposes, including analytics, personalization, fraud, security, and interest-based advertising. These Third-Party Partners may use and combine this data across multiple sites for their own and third party purposes.  For example, we use Google Analytics on our website to help us understand how users interact with our website; you can learn how Google collects and uses information at www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners. Some of the data disclosures to these Third-Party Partners may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as defined under certain U.S. state laws. Please see the “Choice and Control of Personal Data” and “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” section of the Duck Creek Privacy Notice for more information.

What controls are available?
There are a range of cookie and related controls available through browsers, mobile operating systems, and elsewhere. See the “Choice and Control of Personal Data” section of the Duck Creek Privacy Notice.

Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.

Performance Cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site and will not be able to monitor its performance.

Functional Cookies
These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.

Targeting Cookies
These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information, but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

Social Media Cookies
These cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to the site to enable you to share our content with your friends and networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other sites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these cookies, you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.

You can manage cookies through your web browser. Most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to be notified when you receive a new cookie, and how to disable existing cookies. You can find out how to do this for your particular browser by clicking “help” on your browser’s menu or by visiting www.allaboutcookies.org.  Please note, however, that without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of all our website features.
