As AVP of Arbella Insurance, Karen is the second in command for the IT organization.  Her organization represents ~100 FTE responsible for applications development and maintenance.  Karen graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emmanuel College in Boston with a degree in Business Management. She started her career at John Hancock Insurance home office in Boston, and worked on a variety of projects as a software developer. She joined Arbella as a software developer in 1998, became an IT Manager responsible for Personal Lines MA teams and technologies in 2004, and continued to expand her leadership role across teams and technologies since. During her career at Arbella she and her teams implemented key initiatives including Microsoft Dynamics CRM to support an Arbella Service Center, MyArbella customer portal, MA Auto deregulation, CT Home and Auto Agent portals and platform modernization, and the continued migration of our Commercial Lines systems to a more modern platform. She is a Boston resident active in communities both at home and at work, and is a member of Arbella’s Diversity & Inclusion Council.
