Duck Creek Software Wins Two XCelent Industry Awards for Policy Administration

February 25, 2016
Celent’s report places Duck Creek Policy in the top position for Breadth of Functionality and Depth of Service

NEW YORK; Feb. 25, 2016 – Duck Creek property and casualty (P&C) insurance policy software received two XCelent Awards in Celent’s newly published report titled “North American Policy Administration Solutions: Property & Casualty, General, and Specialty Lines ABCD Vendor View1.”

The report, which profiles 43 policy administration systems offered in North America, can be viewed here.

Duck Creek Policy took top honors in two of four categories: breadth of functionality and depth of service. The XCelent Breadth of Functionality Award is based on several criteria: functions and features provided in base offering, in production lines of business and number of deployments for each, and user experience.  The XCelent Depth of Service Award considers two key factors to determine placement: size of professional services and support team in a region, and insurers’ post-implementation experiences.

“We are honored to receive these XCelent awards, which recognize our efforts to deliver functionality-rich policy software and exceptional customer service with every deployment,” said Michael A. Jackowski, global managing director, Accenture Duck Creek. “With the right technology, insurers can transform their businesses by increasing operational efficiencies, preparing for future demand, and delivering the service customers want now and will expect tomorrow.”

In the report, Celent called Duck Creek Policy “…a leading policy administration system with very robust functionality out of the box, modern UI and powerful yet flexible configuration tools that work well for all lines of business.”  The report also mentioned customer remarks regarding service, including the following: “We definitely made the right choice during the selection process. Product with modern technology and is configurable, along with very skilled implementation team.”

Karlyn Carnahan, research director at Celent and co-author of the report, said, “Carriers continue to replace core systems at a fairly high rate.  They’re looking for solutions that can help them rapidly launch new products and provide a differentiated customer experience.”

In addition to receiving the two Celent XCelent awards for its policy software functionality and service offering, Duck Creek also offers:

  • Implementation resources and expertise supported by an established systems integration partner program that expedites deployment and provides ongoing support to the greatest number of customers in production.
  • Continuous product development with timely releases that enable customers to remain current on their system investment and aligned with industry innovations—digital support, APIs, and apps.
  • A proven Software as a Service model accessed via the cloud.

The XCelent Awards are designed to help financial institutions and technology providers stay abreast of industry trends by evaluating the shifting vendor marketplace and awarding technology best practices.

Duck Creek Policy is included in a suite that also incorporates Duck Creek Billing, Duck Creek Claims, and Duck Creek Rating software. The configurable software is designed to work independently or as a combined approach to manage all aspects of the property & casualty (P&C) insurance lifecycle. The software can be deployed through an on-premise implementation or via Duck Creek On-Demand, a Software as a Service model.
